This guide is for the acute kidney injury (AKI) CNS. It provides an overview on how to manually add AKI health issue within a patient’s record on Sunrise.

Note
AKI will be added on patient’s record in two ways.
Manual
Business Intelligence (BI) team generates reports for AKI CNS to manually add AKI Health Issue on Sunrise. AKI stage is then added manually by CNS for known patients with history of AKI on Sunrise.
Automatic
AKI will be added automatically by the MLM in system if result of creatine level triggers it i.e. creatinine results is abnormally high.

To add a new AKI health issue manually, find and select desired patient.
Using Tracking Board Select the ‘Tracking Boards’ tab. Choose appropriate ward from the ‘Department’ list where patient is admitted and select desired patient from the list.
Using Find Patient Select Find Patient button within the toolbar. Search for patient and select required visit. Selected patient and visit will be added to the Temporary list. |

From the ‘Health Issue Manager’ screen, within the ‘Add New Health Issues’ section, select ‘Browse’ tab (if not currently selected) and select ‘AKI’ folder.

Select ‘Add’ button for the required AKI stage to be manually added.

Added health issue appears at the top within the ‘Past Medical HX’ section.
If a wrong selection was added, highlight and select on the toolbar. |

Select at the bottom right hand side of the screen to complete the process.

Select ‘Patient List’ tab and choose the ‘AKI Patient List’ from ‘Current List’. Patient added should be seen in the list displayed.

AKI stage number is automatically inserted from the result interface. The blank entries within ‘AKI stage’ columns indicate entry was manually recorded on the patient record.
