With the patient selected and displayed in the Patient Banner, click on the ‘Orders’ tab to see all orders that have been placed

The ‘Order Summary’ will display with the groups closed

Click ‘+’ icon to expand the Pathology section to see all the tests.

Status of the tests:

Close the Pathology section by clicking the ‘–‘ icon to the left hand side

The ‘Options Panel’ on the left has options to filter the orders displayed.

‘This Chart’ will show just the orders placed on the current attendance, whereas ‘All Available Charts’ will display all orders from all attendances

The ‘Display Format’    and ‘Group/Sort By’    buttons on the toolbar determine the way the orders are displayed on the screen. The same options are available in the Options Panel

There are also options to select the information to display for each order

Filters can be used to show just orders that meet defined criteria.

In the ‘Filters’ section, click the arrow at the end of the required line

The ‘QuickPicks’ tab will show the available filters.

You need to build your own QuickPick filters and then they will be available for use again and again.

Where available, select the ‘Custom’ tab

Scroll down the list and tick the required options

Note - clicking ‘OK’ will run the filter as a one-off and it will not be added to the QuickPick list for future use

Click on the ‘Save’ icon

Give your list a name and click ‘OK’

The filter will run and open the Pathology section in the main panel and filter it to show only ‘Pending Collection’ tests.

You may run multiple filters simultaneously to achieve the required result

To remove a filter, select ‘No Status/Priority Filter’ to return to the full list of orders

This table shows the different statuses available for each type of test.

Note – The ‘pending’ badge on the Radiology icon will not update as the request is processed, performed and reported.

Note - from the ‘Orders’ tab you can reorder tests, cancel orders that haven’t yet been processed, mark specimens as collected to print the sample labels and reprint labels if required. Separate QRGs are available for these.
