This guide is for all users who need to view the referral request placed on the patients record and how to manage the request by marking it as complete on Sunrise

To view the orders for a patient, select the ‘Patient List’ tab and choose the patient list showing your incoming referrals from the ‘current list dropdown’

 

Alternatively, you can search for the patient if you know their details

With the patient selected and displayed in the Patient Banner, click on the ‘Orders’ tab to view the orders that have been placed

The ‘Options Panel’ on the left has options to filter the orders displayed.

‘This Chart’ will show just the orders placed on that current attendance, whereas ‘All Available Charts’ will display all orders from all attendances

The Order Summary will display the sections either open or closed

Click the ‘+’ icon to expand the Referrals section

Select the referral to your department

Double click on the referral request to open the order and view the request.

Action the request as normal and then click ‘Close’ to return to the Orders Summary screen

Once you have dealt with the referral request and no longer wish the patient to show on the patient list, right click on the referral and choose ‘Complete’ from the menu options

The status of the referral request will now display as ‘Completed’ with the current date and time as the stop date

Click on the ‘Patient List’ tab to return to the main screen to check the patient is no longer listed
