This guide is for Secretaries who wish to create a list of patients under the care of a particular Consultant(s) or speciality on Sunrise

Note you only need to create your patient list once. It will then be available for use when required.

Left click on the ‘Patient List’ tab

Left click on the ‘New Visit List’ icon

A pop-up appears with several tabs showing different criteria

To search for patients where you are not the clinician caring for them, e.g. medical secretary wishing to see their consultant’s patients, select the ‘Providers’ tab
|

Type the clinician’s surname in the ‘Provider Name’ box. The name should appear in the middle box. Left click to select the clinician’s name and select the ‘Add’ button. The clinician will move to the lower panel. Repeat this process to add multiple clinicians.
Important Note: To remove names from the lower panel left click to highlight the name and then left click to select the ‘Remove’ button.

If the patients are all at a particular location (i.e. inpatients, ED and outpatients) select the ‘Location’ tab

Tick the appropriate location:-

Select ‘Include patients at selected locations only’ to specify the locations. Then in the table below click on the relevant ‘+’ icons to open the selected venues. Click the ‘Add’ button to move the venues into the ‘Selected Locations’ in the right hand column.
Important Note: Wards are listed under the individual hospitals (i.e. Maidstone or Tunbridge Wells) and then Inpatients, Emergency Department.
Tip: To create a patient list for Outpatient clinics, select the + icon next to ‘MTW NHS Trust – Outpatient’ and then choose the appropriate speciality i.e. cardiology

The ‘Visit Status’ tab contains several options. The tab will default to ‘List currently admitted/registered patients’ unless amended
Patient lists can be created for patients who have attended/visited hospital, such as currently admitted/discharged/ pre-admitted patients. A list can also be created using a specified date range. Select the appropriate criteria and left click ‘OK’
Important Note: ‘Use Actual Dates’ will only ever return patients for the given dates, whereas using the ‘Date Range’ will always update to give patients for yesterday, today or tomorrow. Please ensure dates are updated or checked for existing and future patient lists.

A box will appear to provide a name for your new patient list. Type a suitable name in the ‘List Name’ box and left click ‘OK’

The new list will be displayed in the ‘Current List’ selection
|

To edit/amend a patient list, ensure the appropriate list is displayed and click the ‘Modify Visit List’ button on the toolbar This will open the same pop-up table as before. When the necessary changes have been made, you will be given the option to save the list with a new name (thus creating 2 lists) or to overwrite the existing list.

To delete a list, left click on the ‘Delete Visit List’ icon on the toolbar. A box will appear containing your patient lists. Left click the appropriate list to highlight it and then left click delete. Sunrise will ask you to confirm this action, left click ‘OK’ to confirm.
Alternatively, with the correct patient list showing, left click on the ‘Delete Current List’ button |
