This guide is for all users in adult wards. It provides an overview of the Adult Ward tracking boards within Sunrise.

Select the ‘Tracking Boards’ tab.

Choose desired adult ward from the ‘Department’ dropdown list.

Note 

Adult wards begin with site location prefixes for example, ‘MAID’ is for Maidstone Hospital site and ‘TWH’ is for Tunbridge Wells Hospital site.

 

This list is arranged in alphabetical order.  The ‘View’ dropdown option is set by default to ‘1 Ward View’. All admitted patients on the ward will be displayed.

Sorting – The patients displayed can be sorted in ascending or descending order with the ascending order   indicator appearing to the right of the column name.

 

To sort by another column, select the desired column header and the ascending order sort is applied. Select the same column again to sort the list in descending order and the indicator changes to . The sort will revert to the default sort setting when user logs off Sunrise.

Filters – Right click on a column header and select ‘Filter Column’. From the displayed filter options, select the desired checkbox to set the filter criteria

 

  • Select ‘Add to Current Filters’ to add filter selection to any existing filters in place 
  • Alternatively, select ‘Override Current Filters’ to add filter selection and remove any other filters applied
  • Select ‘OK’ to complete the process.

Once a filter has been applied on the Tracking Board, a funnel icon will show in the filtered header  

 

And the ‘User Filter Maintenance’ link changes to

 

Note – select link again and select ‘Clear Currently Applied Filters’ to remove all filters applied.

Lock Columns – Right click on a column heading and select ‘Lock Column’ so the selected column (and any columns to the left) remain visible whilst scrolling across the tracking board. 

 

 

To unlock the locked column, right click on the column and select ‘Unlock Column’.

Select patient – From the Tracking Board displayed, click anywhere on the row containing the desired patient. The selected patient will be highlighted in blue. The patient’s details are displayed in the patient banner. Additional icons on the toolbar and tabs become available once a patient has been selected.

Badges / flags – Appear within patient’s row to provide visual information to staff about patients on the tracking board. See illustration below for more information.

Hover on the vital sign (VS) icon to see the latest numeric clinical observations. Abnormal observations are indicated by red arrows. 

Hover over the Lab or Rad icons to see the orders. The Lab icon will show the status of the order.

The ‘Review All’ button will clear the Lab icon from the tracking board.

 

Double click on the Lab or Rad icon to open the Orders tab for that patient.

 

Note – If you hover over an icon for the selected patient, the tooltip heading will be green (as above). If you hover over the icon for any other patient not selected, the tooltip heading will be red.
