Note - You can only reprint a specimen label if the sample has been collected. Note – Specimen labels will only be available to reprint for up to 48 hours after the specimen collection.

To start, select the patient you wish to reprint a label for, this could be from a Tracking Board, a Patient List or by searching for the patient
|

With the patient selected and displayed in the Patient Banner, click on the ‘Orders’ tab
|

To reprint a specimen label for a single order, i.e. if you had only requested one test, for example, FBC, highlight the test, right click and select ‘Print/Reprint Labels’ from the menu options
Note - This will reprint the label straight away, directly to the label printer

To reprint the specimen label for multiple tests, for example a FBC, ESR, & Renal that were collected at the same time, you will need the original date and time of the collection so you can narrow the search down later. To find the original date and time of collection for a test, with the patient in context, click on the ‘Orders Tab’

Look under the ‘Order Date’ column, make a note of the date and time

Note – For Inpatients you can check the date and time on the original specimen label that was printed, on the phlebotomy form
|

To reprint the specimen label, click the ‘File’ menu above the patient banner
|

From the menu options, choose ‘Reprint Orders’
|

Search for the previously generated specimen label in the ‘Requisition’ field using the arrow to the side. With the dropdown box displayed, select ‘MTW - Specimen Label’
Change the date range using the arrow at the side of the ‘From date’ and ‘To date’ fields. Change the time range using the arrows at the side of the ‘From time’ and ‘To time’ fields. Narrow your search to just a few minutes either side of the time the original specimen labels were printed

Click the ‘Search’ button

The order/s will be displayed below, click on the specimen label you require

If you have more than one test listed for your patient, click on the ‘+’ icon to expand the test, to make sure it’s the correct specimen label you wish to reprint
|

Click the ‘Printer’ button

The Order Reprint Distribution screen will display. If you have set the Label Printer as the Default printer, you will not need to change anything on this screen. Click ‘Print’.
Alternatively, click onto the ‘Physical Printer’ radio button and select the Label Printer from the dropdown box and click ‘Print’

Note - If you wish to reprint an Order Form, you will need to select ‘Reprint Orders’ from the File Menu above the Patient Banner and select the required order from the dropdown box within the ‘Requisition’ field.
Note - The user will be able to reprint Order Forms up to 6 months after the initial request date.
